fluorescent light fixture in head

Has anyone had to fix or replace the fluorescent light fixture in the head of a Belize or other FP cat? We have replacement bulbs, but that did not do the trick. So assuming the fixture needs fixing or replacing.

Any suggestions welcome!

Test for voltage at the light.
If there is, it's likely the ballast and you will need to replace the light.

You might want to switch to an LED fixture. I have a motion activated battery powered one for the head, and it is really handy; instant light when and where you need it.

Re: fluorescent light fixture in head

If you're reasonably handy with a soldering iron you can bypass the electronics
(Just use the switch) and replace the fluorescent tubes with LED strip.

If the fixtures were are in good shape, I used to buy the cheapest 12v flouro light, take it apart, and swap the electronics with the bad fixture. Of course, that was in the days before cheap leds.
