Re: Dinghy and Davits

I know a number of people have complained that the factory davits are too low. Here is a photo of the solution that Jim Freeman and his crew went with in picking up their boat from La Rochelle this month.

Re: Dinghy and Davits

Hi all,
This is not a He'lia 44 but the Orana 44 one of the last from the factory. We are here in La Rochelle picking up our He'lia and will post some photos of our tender on the davits. And WOW what a different boat the Hlia is to te Orana, it is beautiful. We are very pleased.FP have done a great job and the quality and finish , just wonderful.

ID:	60824For those interested in the latest on the He'lia davits FP now have a modification that we had installed on our boat. The result was a lift of approx 20cm, giving more than sufficient clearance for tender and outboard.

Looks good Gordon.

Hope to catch a look at the Helia 44 at Santuary Cove next week.

Cheers

Re: Dinghy and Davits

Gordon,
I am excited to see your dinghy on the davits. I am impressed that your 20 HP outboard clears the water nicely without having to tilt the motor.

Would it be possible to post a few more pictures of the davits from the the boat cockpit view and maybe from each side.

Gordon, if you would be so kind can you give some details about the harness / sling and the attachment points that you used to lift the dinghy. Also, what size is your dinghy?

Appreciate your help,
Onthehook

Downunder.

You will be looking at our boat @ Sanctuary Cove. MH Solutions are doing the davit modification either before or just after the show.

Re: Dinghy and Davits

The dinghy has small wire bridles at either end connected through the boat with a length equal to the davit spacing. The bridles are made to keep the attach point as low into the dinghy as possible. Images attached.Click image for larger version

Re: Dinghy and Davits

What size walker bay is that the 310 or the 340? Did you have to add the rear mounting points or are they standard?

Re: Dinghy and Davits

Its the 310 light and the lift points are standard. The tender is light and along with the 44kg of the 20 HP engine a very quick and light combination.

Hi,

Are you happy with the Walker Bay tender, have read mixed reviews?
Thinking of getting one as a replacement on our 440
