There will probably be one at the Miami show.

Evidently FP does not plan to bring one to Strictly Sail Miami either. Bummer.

I just want to see it up close as its #1 on my list after a long comparison against Legacy 35, and other cats in the 35 to 40' range. Thanks in advance.

Re: Buying a Mahe

Love to visit Thailand but it's not in my plans. I checked the FP site on shows and they won't have a Mahe in Miami. Bummer. I assume the marketing message is it's such a great boat in the US, Caribbean markets that they don't need to spend resources instead opting for push on larger models.

Re: Buying a Mahe

...... and likely that given FP's penchant for new models you will see a xyz38 (which will actually measure 36 foot 6 inches) replace the Mahe which is (I think) its oldest current model.

Re: Buying a Mahe

Interesting. That means if FP closes out Mahe then more boats will be added to the market as mahe owners trade up. Sweet, for those of us planning on a three year horizon. Anyone heard what FP will be doing with the Mahe line?

Re: Buying a Mahe

I have looked at the Mahe 36 and of the production boats find them to be very nice. I come from a monohull background so please bear that in mind when responding.

I like a saloon I can "lounge around" in the saloon when I am on the pick etc, The Mahe saloon, with the rigidness of the seating arrangement seems to be less desirable than say a long lounge stretching from one side of the saloon to the other you might see on a custom boat. Watching TV for example (i have 2 kids it has to happen) would be sitting rigidly at the table - is that right?

So how comfortable is "hanging around on the pick" do you tend to lounge around in the cockpit.

Please don't misconstrue this as criticism, it is not intended as such, its simply an observation. With a very bad back I would like to say that lying down and being comfortably sprawled out is crucial and not on my compromise list.

Any advice greatly appreciated

I agree that a nice sprawl position is important. I can sit up leaning slightly forward (like at a helm seat) or lean backward a good bit (sprawl). I have found few salon seats that support this type of seating. And many are curved so no place to put a few pillows and sprawl. It really makes it hard to make a decision.

I am in Oakland CA and have a mahe. Do you want to come see mine? The only other mahe I know of on west coast was in Baja.

Re: Buying a Mahe

Yikes, I would love it but a new Mahe is definitely not the way to go. Thanks for helping me confirm that I am looking for a boat that is 1 to 4 years old already outfitted, preferably Evolution model. Still bummed FP will not have one at Strictly Sail Miami. : / I am trying to make a connection with 1 brokered Mahe in Miami and two other owners in the area that may be open to a walk thru if I come equipped with a good bottle of wine and a fair amount of enthusiasm for the boat. ; D

Re: Buying a Mahe

I was approached to put our Mahe (2012 #138) into the Miami boat show, but it didn't work out.

I'd invite you aboard in St. Augustine, but we decided to put her back into charter service in the Bahamas.
