I think the boat looks nice ... Good indoor outdoor flow between the patio and saloon. I would be concerned about the water / spray which comes over the bow going down into the patio area ... Personally think that too will now be a 'wet area' at sea. I am also not sure how practical the bench seats are with being so wide ... Sometimes one just wants to sit with the legs being bent at the knees which would mean no backrest, but yeah ... Great looking boat!

Re: New Boat

I now also have the price for Helia; delivered in LaRochelle with some basic accesories in the range of 440-450.000 €. It's difficult to compare apple to apple with outgoing Orana but seems some 10-13 % more..
It will certainly weight more than the declared 10.8 t but the main is a bit bigger as Gordon said. More importantly we need to see the hulls to be able to judge her speed potential. Bridge deck clearance seems to be about the same as Orana, but possibly no protrusion/s as the beds in Helia are parallel to the hull.
Cheers

Re: He'lia 44.

Hey Gordon. The Helia looks great. We need more photos though. Hoping to get some in Sept. We take delivery of ours in February. How we get it home is the question!

Re: He'lia 44.

Welcome to the Forum,.
Great to meet up in Sydney, and yes big decision.
If you have the time, a cruise into the Med with an exit to make the Atlantic crossing end of the year, follow the sun!
Looking forward to more actual photos and a sailing report.
Gordon.

Re: New Boat

FP just sent us an invitation to the launch of the Helia. Just the air tickets seem to be missing.

Re: New Boat

Daniel, we had the same invite but no tickets, just have to wait until the first arrives into Aus. early next year. MHS may have sold four already, not bad for pre release sales, boat unseen.
We have been spoilt with peak views as the design evolved and now more actual images are being released and after the public showing in Cannes we should know more although the owners version has not been built as yet.

Cheers Gordon.

Re: New Boat

Hi Daniel, The viewing we were given was only between FP and us, did not include MHS, we were given this because we had a buyer for our boat and at that stage FP were not talking to anyone, dealers included about any new model. The information has been very slow to come through from the factory and only last night our time did FP post a series of photographs on their Photographic Libary. We have received a draught copy of the brochure and this will be available very soon. The lack of information that MHS has been able to pass on has frustrated them as dealers as much as interested buyers.
Regards Gordon.

Re: Helia 44.

Gordon,

What is the ballpark price sailaway from France for the Helia without going into the complexities of your deal. It certainly looks a good upgrade of the Orana.

I imagine you would have/be fitting genset/watermaker/solar for such a trip and have a Mastero version.

Of course import cost will eventually be added when getting back to Aus on top.

Cheers

John

Re: Helia 44.

Hi John,
With all the bells and whistles sail away around $550,000 Ausi and as you say some devalued duty to pay on arrival home provided you take more than twelve months to get here. This will be easy to do as we plan 18mths to ..............years, very happy with the upgrade.
