Lavezzi 40: bigger alternator possibilities

Hello everybody,
one of our alternators has just died, apparently there is a relais
which puts the current on the alternator when the ignition is put on????
because I found out that the current was constant on the alternator
and that may have caused it to die !!!
DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHERE THIS RELAIS IS SITUATED ???
unless I am wrong help me out with other possibilities!!
Then while this altenator has died anyway I have always wanted to put
a bigger AMP alternator on the 'house side' batterie bank!!
I think the old one is a toshiba 60Ah !
IS THERE A 100 0R 120AH ALTERNATOR THAT WOULD FIT ???
I have 2 yanmar 29HP engines dated 2005
Am heading towards the RIO DULCE in GUATEMALA
would be great to be able to that over there!!

I put a Balmar 120 amp on mine with single pully and has worked like a charm since 2006
