Beaching a Bahai for maintenance. Who's done it and pros and cons please!

Props out to sea.

Just watch the weather. An afternoon pop up thunderstorm can damage the boat or bounce it up on the beach so you can't get off.

The less fetch the better. Wave action is your enemy. I beach all the time for minor maintenance.

I am going to beach my Salina next month, very fine desert sand on the beach and no wind/waves. About 1.3-1.5m tide.

What is the procedure, step-by-step?
Do I go slowly onto the beach until my keels touch sand?
Do I need to drop the anchor to hold the boat once the water goes away?
Do I need to drop the second anchor from the aft to hold the boat when the water comes back?


I want to clean the bottom with pressure washer (using the fresh water from the tank and generator - need extention hose for generator cooling) and polish the props.
