Xinutop-nav-x86, marine OS, version 2.2 released

A new vesion of Xinutop, dedicated marine OS is ready for download:
http://marinux.tuxfamily.org
Here is an extract from changes.txt:

***************************
FUTURE
***************************
As announced by Debian in https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2015/09/msg00589.html,
the compatibility with 586 processors class is dropped since Debian V9/Stretch.
More, after tests of this version:
- Final size take 25% more space.
- QT5 and GTK3 are huge and heavy.
For people (as me) who refuse to put in trash a functional PC to buy a functional PC,
these elements preclude the compatibilty with low-power processors and are not in
accordance with the Xinutop principles.
So, Xinutop will not migrate to V9/Stretch and continue to be maintained on V8/Jessie
using backports, as long as possible.
But the future is now. Although Xinutop offers upward compatibility (586_32 to 786_64),
as the up-to-date/last-fashion (and expensive) processors of today will be the old
processors (and low cost) of to morrow, probably an x86_64 version will be born in
parallel, waiting for the 886 128bits...

**************************
V2.2 jul 17
**************************
- General update Debian 8.8 + backports
- Exception update for linssid & zygrib marked as hold (QT4 versions, see above QT5 considerations)

Marinux bootable USB stick works very well. Just done a test with the oeSENC plugin for using oeSENC charts. The use of encrypted oeSENC ENC charts works without problems.

You have to make a fingerprint and this fingerprint is connected only to one system.

I have been using a Thin client system with Atom processor. Disabled Windows network part and then booting from the usb.

The only thing I have done is installing a new OpenCPN 4.8 version.

Re: Xinutop-nav-x86, marine OS, version 2.2 released

just downloaded latest Xinutop from website and prepared bootable usb drive.
Booting on my NB ok but somehow I cannot get the wireless network going.
kb layout is also not adjustable to match physical layout.

Help file is rather cryptic to me on this subject - any advise how to proceed now.
