Window7 Garmin 176 not talking to each other!

Hello all. I just replaced my lenovo xp with a newer lenovo W7 model. have installed a fresh opcn. and bought a new serial to usb adapter (Targus) I am trying to connect a Garmin 176. the garmin works but the signal is not getting to opcn. have tried export and I get a message about a computer 64 issue. The driver install disc for the adapter does not include W7. Can someone help with this? I'm about ready to tear what little hair I have left out! thanks Noel

When you just bought a serial to USB adapter which comes without a driver for Windows 7 64bit which you obviously have, give it back to the seller and ask for a new one which includes drivers.
