Will BU353 work with Windows 7 for OpenCPN?

I can't figure this straight forward question out from reading the posts. Some seem to say yes, some no. Official GPS page in the OpenCPN instructions says no longer recommended or something like that. I assume drivers change and that some of the posts do not reflect today's reality so I am asking here.

Thanks, Allen

It works but the GPS sometimes drops out or cannot be found by Windows 7 and then the PC requires rebooting. There are various suggested solutions (x-port etc) but they have not worked for us.

We just re-boot when it drops out, which takes about a minute. It is a little annoying but not the end of the world.

It works fine on my Win 7 laptop, but I probably don't use it as much as many others.

As I recall I had to get an updated driver from somewhere.
