What GPS System Is Best Suited to Use with OpenCPN ?

I am new to the boating community. I wish to use the cpn program and would like to know what gps system is best suited.

Can the PUCK such as Garmin GPS - 18x OEM LVC - GPS receiver module - Waterproof be used?

Any input is welcomed

Kevin

a Holux M-215 works fine too.

On the boat I connected the nmea-out from the raytheon-chartplotter to a comar-ais-multi, Comar Systems AIS-Multi , works fine !

I am using a different unit now. A GLOBALSAT MR-350P BULKHEAD GPS RECEIVER (WATERPROOF). Works better than the Holux, much faster Sat. aquisition
