Re: Watchdog Plugin

Hi,
I have just put up 1.9.021. This change is to the speed alarm and contains a fix when saving/restoring the alarm and the ability for the user to select a time over which to 'smooth' the SOG. This can be selected between 1 second and 2 minutes. The time frame can be changed at any time.

Re: Watchdog Plugin

Jon
You did it anyway. Very good. I was about to pull a request to average the speed but luckily you was quicker. Your solution is much better than my attempts.
I've tested with a VDR and it's great. I do like the slider.
Thanks
Håkan

Roel,

I suggest that you mention the version number in the following sentence:
"Watchdog has (in it’s present version), the following types of alarms:"

Question:
Is the basic language file in CrowdIn (in english) up to date?

Good suggestion, NAV. I have now added the version of WD in the top of the document, so it reads:

Latest update of this documentation: (dd-mm-yyyy): 15-01-2016
(and up to date with the following version of Watchdog-Plugin: watchdog_pi-1.9004-ov4.1.1301-MPR24-win32.exe)

NAV, I cannot answer your question.
I know nothing about CrowdIn or programming-languages. The only thing I did/do, is write some text and add screenshots.

Roel,

I think you should just mention the version number as other OS's have a different name of the executable.

The latest version on github is 1.9021 at the moment.
I guess when 4.2 comes out we will supply the download page with the latest plugin versions.

Hi Peter,
Sorry, but I just don't know how to install/use that 1.9021 version from github (my fault, it's my complete lack of knowledge of github and compiling and that sort of things).
I can only write documentation/make screenshots using the versions that are available as exe-files for Windows and for that I rely on Rick's beta file thingie-site. So what I did is mention te latest version I used from that site.

But maybe you can enlighten me?

Roel.

Roel, Peter..
If you're on Windows use this meanwhile something more official is out.
Download and delete the ".pdf" extension.

After some investigation I found that also the language pot-file of the WD plugin CrowdIn is not yet up to date with version 1.9 of the plugin.

NAV
I've updated the POT file and pulled a request for update. Once merged into Watchdog it can be copied to Crowdin.

Re: Watchdog Plugin

Can somebody shed light on the meaning of this phrase:

Code:
Graphical overlay for time displays line from boat to location of land crossing

Context | Request Context
#: src/WatchdogUI.cpp:231
Perhaps with a screen shot? The different translations I can understand are not completely coherent here. Almost all omit the Time and just translate "a trace to shore"

I cannot test the "Landfall Time" alarm (GPS-course crosses land in ... minutes) as my PC is stationary (at home) and I don't have a SOG and COG. But I have tested the "Landfall Distance" alarm (GPS-fix is less than .... nm from coastline) by using the low-res basic coastline. When I check the box with "Graphics enabled", WD shows a yellow line when the alarm is triggered. See the attached screenshot.

I am no programmer but if you are referring to the text in the Edit Alarm window, maybe we can avoid confusion by omitting the "time" bit and rephrase the text "Graphical overlay for time displays line from boat to location of land crossing" to "Graphics enabled" will display a line from the boat to the location of landfall".?
