v5 on Mac Air, serial interface reconnexion bug (?)

Hi,
One of the strength of OpenCPN is that it manages very fine the sleep mode, deconnexions, and so on, to recover the position as soon as the computer is waken up.
For a friend having lost his cat in Brazil with MaxSea, with this counting for one reason, I find it important.
Yesterday, demonstrating the robustness of OCPN on a customer's AirMac, I was surprised to see that if I deconnect the USB GPS mouse, and connect it again, OCPN does not find the position any more. More precisely, the bargraph stays dead and the boat is grey, but in the "setting/connection" panel, using "open NMEA window", the NMEA frames are there as soon as the mouse is reconnected (with the 3" cold start delay).

Config :
OpenCPN 5.0.0
MacBook Air
OSX Mojave
GPS mouse with CP2102 USB to UART Bridge VCP Drivers - Silicon Labs

No problem on my PC Win7 with a chinese uBlox interface.

Someone can make the test on his/her MacBook ?

Can you try the former version 4.8.8 of OpenCPN to see if it will be better?
You may get it here:
