Translation of the New Windows Installer Strings

Hi,

as Dave already wrote (http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...tml#post539358) we are looking for some volunteers who help translating the strings for the new localizable Windows installer for OCPN.

There are several different ways in how you can support:
  • Download a file from Google and work on your local system
IMPORTANT: If you work online please pay attention that the file is UTF-8 (with or without BOM) encoded!
Please send me the file after you finished your work so that I can update the online file - thanks.
  • Work online
For the latter method I created a page where you can find the link to each language file: NSIS Sprachdateien/ Language Files | OpenCPN.de

There is no need for any registration!
Just start and translate as much (or little) as you like - every word/ sentence is one step forward to the 100%!

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me or to post them here.

Many thanks for your help,

Gunther

No problem - it is ready when it's ready.
Do not hurry ...! Dave planned the stable release for around the mid of November he wrote. So there are about 4 weeks left for the translations.

Someone also already started to work on the Portuguese BR version at Google - thanks.

Gunther

Hi all,

here are some corrections:
Quote:
IMPORTANT: If you work online please pay attention that the file is UTF-8 (with or without BOM) encoded!
Must be:
IMPORTANT: If you work offline please pay attention that the file is UTF-8 (with or without BOM) encoded!

And I needed to add 4 more lang strings. I have added them to the end of each langstring file.

Thanks to some hard-working volunteers, there are a lot of progress with the translations.

The Dutch, Czech and Portuguese Brasilian translations are nearly completed - thank you very much!

Gunther

Hello ...

just another update:

  • I forgot one more string
    Quote:
    ;added on 2010-10-18
    #LangString UnSecDeleteConfigFolder_Text ${LANG_ENGLISH} "Delete Config folder"
Files at Google are all updated accordingly.

Sorry for the inconvenience ... .
And many thanks to the hard working volunteers who already have fully translated some of the languages!
Please check back and also add the translations of the strings I forgot - thanks.

Gunther

PS: If all went well and Dave does not change his plans then the next official beta release uses the new installer for Windows. Then you can see your translation "working" and we can check if all strings fit or if we have to do some adjustments.

Re: Translation of the New Windows Installer Strings

Hi all,

as the next stable release 2.5 is coming closer (Dave expects the new stable version to be released in June) may I ask you again for completing and revising the language files for the Windows installer?

Here is the link to the main page where you can find the links for each language file: NSIS Sprachdateien/ Language Files | OpenCPN.de

If you miss a language please feel free to contact me (via email or PM).

Many thanks in advance!

Gunther

Re: Translation of the New Windows Installer Strings

There is now a Spanish version in Gunthers language files.

Hay una versión en Castellano/Español disponible. Como 4 (o 6 ojos) ven más que 2 invito echar una mirada y utilizar la oportunidad para aplicar las mejoras pertinentes.

Un saludo
Kind regards

Hubert

Re: Translation of the New Windows Installer Strings

Found one more word that can't be translated in the Norwegian installer.
The language "name". It's currently says Norske, but should be "Norsk", without the "e".

Norwegian language has been updated, except for the two issues that I can't translate.

Have a nice day!

Re: Translation of the New Windows Installer Strings

Hi translators ...

As the next stable release 2.5 is coming closer I'd like to ask you to complete the translations for the windows installer.

You can find the links to the respective file on NSIS Sprachdateien/ Language Files | OpenCPN.de

If you drop me a note after you have completed the translation I'll compile a version for you with the new translation for testing/ checking.

There are still some languages completely untranslated (e.g. Finnish, Russian and Danish). So if you know who did the translation of OCPN's language file for one of these languages, please let me know or contact that person directly asking for doing also the translation for the installer.

Many thanks in advance!

Gunther

Re: Translation of the New Windows Installer Strings

Norsk / Norwegian has been edited and checked.
Please make sure that it don't read "Norske" anywhere in the installer. If this shoud be the case, please change this to "Norsk", whitout the ending "e".
Thanks.

It seems that Jean Pierre (PtiZef) is currently absent in any case, it does post more, now, nor Cruisers Forum, or on the French forum.

I try to make adjustments to the installation file for your site.

But I do not understand German and therefore I do not know how to finish.

I put in a file attachment that I saved my house without knowing if that goes well with me because I can not load ... !

Best regard

Gilletarom.
