Tides and Currents

I have recently "discovered" openCPN and find it very interesting to use. I my navchart program that I use today I use cm93-2 charts and in that system I can see tides and currant arrows for the North Sea but not in open CPN. I use the same charts so the information is there. Is there a way to "open up" this info so it can bee seen?

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, janp391 and Leif.

You'll probably want to check out our "OpenCPN" threads (Sub-Forum) at

Hello!

There are still some known deficiencies with the decoding of C-MAP charts. Apparently there are deviations from the standard in the charts themselves as well.

Please identify the name of the chart in question (from within opencpn) and the precise name of the C-MAP dataset, make some screenshots with/without currents (with the commercial programme in question) if at all possible, and then post the bug here (this thread is monitored by the lead developer).

By the way, the tides are provided by free software programme xtides, which may not dispose of some of the (proprietary) tidal data..

JanP and Leif..

I doubt whether tidal and current info is a part of c-map 2. It probably is an overlay from your nav. prog.

Hello sinbad7
You are probably right when I think a little bit more. So maybe this can also be possible in openCPN?
