Patrick, I downloaded and installed Polauto 5.3. Thank you for the changes you made...there are still a couple of things that could be corrected, and I will email directly to your email with my suggestions.

I am attaching print-outs of a polar from qtVLM (Pogo850) and Shannon38. I am completely new to qtVLM so I'm not sure how a person gets a polar to display, but I can tell you that if I choose the Pogo850 polar, the program opens, but if I then try to switch to Shannon38, the program crashes (Windows 7, 32 bit machine). So even though they look the same, there must be something qtVLM doesn't like about Shannon38

Yes it is twa/tws that QtVlm don't like !
I don't know if it's important for OpenCPN .csv file to be like this or if i can also write TWA\TWS ?

Thankyou for testing Jon. I think the problem maybe that I did not use the proper ct line feed, or return as required by qtvlm. See my big post about formats under the qtvlm section there is something about using Unix code...for line feed... Sorry I can't fix the polar for qtvlm for week.

As you see the error message from opening qtVLM with the Shannon38 file (after changing from forward slash to back slash), maybe that first part of the code refers to the line feed issue?

I am attaching the main window and the configure window from Polauto 5.3

The suggestions I have are small suggestions, but if you have time to make them it will make the program look even better, in my opinion:

In the Configure window:

Text should be "Offset" (two "f")

Where the word "coefficient" for speed is, the "t" is blocked

Text should be "with VWR the true wind is calculated (instead of "calculate")"

Text should be "Check (instead of "Checked") HDG if you want the current"

Recording box at left should be a little wider to not block numbers

Text at left should be "Create and export .xml files"

With reference to the main window attached:

Wind Average...the numbers need to move a little to the right to not be blocked

Speedo should also show kts like wind

The "with %" is blocking the number a little

For the "anglais" users, "Regate mode" should be "Race Mode" or "Regatta Mode"
