That patch could have some trouble with 3.0, because I modified A LOT of code in s52plib since then :-) But I have a patch myself, I was thinking of publishing it when I was sure it was good. Too much other work got in the way... We'll see.

No this is a source code patch. You need to recompile the entire program before it is used. It is only useful for those of you who have a complete environment for building OCPN available, which is a pretty big project to set up if you have never done it before.

Well, actually I don't think this type of code should go into the mainline release. It is an ugly hack for Scandinavian languages, and it is sure to make names in some other places come out wrong. I could consider providing a downloadable executable for windows though....

For those of you who are on Windows, I have a build of 3.0 with the åäö patch at http://journeyman.se/opencpn/opencpn.zip. It is just the new opencpn.exe file, you should rename you old .exe to some backup name, and install this one instead.

Neither! It's just a recompile of 3.0 with a hack to convert aa ae oe to åäö in CM93 charts.
