Swedish oeSENC charts to come - with our help.

We got access to the charts last Friday late afternoon.
And we need some days to integrate them into the shop.


There are some special conditions we have to follow (and to implement).



The set will cover Denmark (incl.Bornholm), Faroers and Greenland.
For the Greenland Eastcoast there are no large scale charts.


We will advice when the charts are getting available.

Well, I would also very much like to know more of the possibility of Danish charts ?

These charts follow the same scheme as the other oeSENC charts:


- vector charts directly from the Hydrographic Offices, licensed and packaged for OpenCPN. Look and feel like all other S-57 or S-63 charts.



- cannot be called "official charts" as they are not endorsed nor distributed through the defined channels for official charts, even if the content is the same.


- update frequencies depend from the policy of the issuing authorities, all in between weekly updates and no updates included.
Denmark forces us at this moment not to include updates.
We will discuss with them how to change this. But first we want to start with these charts.


- coverage are usually all actual charts for the offered region or country, small and large scales

Just downloaded the charts and now my boat is in a harbor and no more on dry land
CM93 charts can go in the recycle bin now
The area around Langeland and Lolland looks very good and high detail.

The Faroes seem to be part of the UK/Ireland pack too, does that come from the UKHO? Should we be better served by the Denmark pack?

The UK set does not contain any large scale and detailed charts of the Faroers, as those are edited by the Danish authorities.


Perhaps sometimes in the future there might be a regional chart set, but not in a short term. We need to gain some more experiences and ideas about possible composed sets.

I have today puchased the Danish charts, following the described procedures. But I do not seem to be able to get to the registering of unit window, upon logging in nothing happens? what do I do wrong?
Please help!

Your operating system? Vesrion of OpenCPN and oeSENC?



Is the oeSENC plug-in installed and enabled, so that you see the oeSENC tab under Options|Charts?

Hi Hubert and thank you for quick reply.
My system is a Lenovo Thinkpad T440 with Win 10, latest update. OpenCPN ditto, version 4.8.4 with the oeSENC plugin 2.0 activated.
Yes, I have the oeSENC tab visible, and upon clicking on the refresh chart list, I am asked to login. But from here, nothing. The window with the possibility to type the system name does not respond to typing - just nothing ?
I am just now trying the offline download and have received a .zip-file.

Hi Hubert!
I just got the charts to work following the offline way. Download link --> received a .zip-file, unzipped to a folder on my C-drive (root) and with a number of actions which i cannot account for in detail, the charts are now installed and working in OpenCPN.
I shall play with them and see what I think

Perhaps some non-ASCII characters in the password or the email, nice things like "Ö"?



Would be interesting to know as these are typical cases you will not catch testing.

No, I do not use any special letters or symbols in my email and password.

A couple of questions to the newly acquired danish maps:

1) on the water areas, there is triangles shown with a varying number of stars inside them. What does this represent and is it possible to avoid the triangles being shown?

2) The maps have no names on towns, ports and waters like on old-fashioned paper maps. Is it possible to get names shown?

Click on the "A+" Icon in the toolbar. If still no joy, make sure you do not have the texts disabled in the configuration (https://opencpn.org/wiki/dokuwiki/do...or_display_tab)
