Re: Statusbar Plugin

Hello Sean D'Epagnier, Hello All,

Today, I improved the French version of the language file on the Crowdin.

It remains an item whose reason for being is not obvious to me. And that I did not translate correctly. More precisely, this text which appears in the user manual determines the display of the text.

This is: "% L Ship heading rate".

Not having a vdr file adapted for the tested, help ?

Thank by advance. Gilletarom

[QUOTE=Gilletarom;2588415]Hello Sean D'Epagnier,
However, I regret that your status bar does not take the place of the "official" status bar of OpenCPN.
[/QUUOTE]
-- Note that you can turn off the O status bar.
Quote:
- If you launch the Grib plugin, a text on a yellow background is displayed, at the bottom left of the screen, above the map bar. This text is hiding, your new status bar. It disappears from the display. It's boring.
-If not launching the S63 plugin, and if the displayed card is out of date, a message must remain visible on the screen, bottom left, above the card bar. This message is partially hidden by your status bar.
Two plugins are vying for the same location. Note that you have been given the ability to change the location, which is very nice and solves your problem I believe
See the X & Y ???

We need to update the manual with a note I believe.

- Obviously, I unchecked the display box of the "official" status bar. I confirm that I find the new Sean Status bar very convenient.

- But the conflict between different plugins that use the same display area is obviously boring. X and Y do not provide a desirable solution, because it's a lot of space instead of showing the map area.

I already set up a page in French in my tutorial : http://opencpn.shoreline.fr/__OpenCP..._de_statut.htm

Re: Statusbar Plugin

do you propose plugins can register such overlay space to avoid conflicts?

Re: Statusbar Plugin

Gilletarom, your english is mostly impeccable, so I would like to know your thought better. I am not sure you really mean "boring"

To continue Sean's question, Are you suggesting that the Statusbar should replace the standard one?

What is wrong with this example you give?

Hum ... My English is my english ... Thank Goolgle translator ! Also, do not look for a problem where I do not see much. Except that the use of the space on the screens must be taken into account in the future development of OpenCPN and / or these plugins.

Why not. This would resolve the use of available space on the screen and avoid conflicts with other plugins.

There is no problem with the two examples of use I put in the tutorial. These are examples that can be followed without any problem, except perhaps because the text "Zoom excessif" is partially hiden.

"Boring" and "annoying" translate to the same word in French. So I imagine Gilleterom (and Google translate) really meant annoying?

It would probably be a good thing if the exploitation of the space available on the screen could be managed a little better.

Hi,

english/french

a repetive task is boring
Dealing with something which is not perfect is annoying

Am I OK ?

Une tache répétitive est ennuyeuse (boring)
devoir s'accommoder d'un état de fait est embetant (annoying)
ais je bien compris ?

Serge

Yes! But there is also the word "irritating" that is not as strong as "annoying" but I don't know the French translation.

heading rate is the speed the boat is turning in degrees per second.
