Sprint Overdrive WIFI GPS Integration with OpenCPN

Howdy folks!
I am running OpenCPN Version 2.1.0 Build 624a on a Toshiba laptop with 10.04 LTS, Lucid Lynx 64-bit. The program works fine except that I cannot integrate the GPS from my Sprint "Overdrive" WIFI. I am connected wirelessly and able to see the position via a web browser, but I cannot seem to be able to get OCPN to recognize it. I have tried using the "Network GPSd" function in the tools and GPS setup area but to no avail. I don't think I can designate the wifi as a device. Does anybody have any ideas as to how I may make this work?
Thanks!

Not an easy question to answer.
Check this link Setting Up GPS | Official OpenCPN Homepage

Scroll down a bit to get Linux instructions.

Test this from the instructions:
Quote:
# Run the command "$udev monitor" to see exactly, and instantly what is going on when you plugin your gps.
# Run the command "$ls -lrtd /dev/*|tail -10", and see the 10 latest created device files. Run this just after plugin in your gps to see which device was created.
This may give you a hint if Linux recognize your gps.

If you can find the device this way, just write it in the ToolBox -> GPS -> NMEA Data Source field.

Remember to first stop GPSD, if you try this.
Quote:
$sudo killall gpsd
I hope this helps!
