Some Proposals from a Newbie

Hi everybody.

I'm relatively new to OCPN and this forum here. After looking around and reading a lot of interesting postings I'd like to make some proposals:

  1. The Feature Request thread is very huge and contains different topics like GRIB and Routing for example. For the sake of simplicity/ clarity why not splitting the thread? Or even better from my point of view: A subforum with its own threads for each topic dealing with the feature requests.
  2. Make the thread 'New OpenCPN Sub-forum' un-sticky - doesn't make sense at that location.
  3. Like in any other forum there are so many interesting tipps, links, hints and so on but they are buried/ hidden. Why not have one or more (sticky) threads with the links and/ or excerpts? Some things are also worth to be copied to OpenCPN |
Please don't get me wrong - these are all just suggestions. And I'm still working on the improvement of my English skills.

Gunther

These have been moved to sourceforge. Having said that, I couldnt respond to your request (MOB) because "no group ID was selected" in the $&%(%/ bugtracker. I was going to remark that MOB is implemented but not documented very well, if you press ALT SPACE you get an icon and locator. Perhaps there should be an button with that icon somewhere given the importance of the functionality

Feel free transferring anything of interest into the relevant sections - quite a lot of it is from the FAQ thread on here.

I've just noted there aren't any groups, perhaps someone with SF.net admin on the project could set some standard one (Psyches if you would?) as it does not seem possible to respond to any reports ATM.

Added a few categories, converted the one example group to a real (non-example). But I don't know that this will help your problem...not sure what exactly you did. I was able to add a comment and update the referenced feature request.

Thanks very much.. It might be because you've got admin on there?

I tried again (simply filling in form and clicking on add comment) and it says:

Quote:
There was an error processing your request ...

Error - Choose a Group
ERROR - No group_id was chosen.

Weird..

Oh and I could comment on my own bug report without any problems (which has a group)

Doesn't look like an admin issue - others have commented on other features. See this: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?fun...roup_id=180842

Lightbulb

It might help if you
  • log out
  • delete all cookies (from Sourceforge)
  • clear your Browser Cache
and log in again.
