Re: Software to introduce hypertext links in OpenCPN waypoints
simple Ozi2Gpx test seems fine...
convertOziWPTtoGPXvers1.1.zip.doc
but for this old ozi stuff ....it seems I did something on october 20,2010 to wreck them...

Re: Software to introduce hypertext links in OpenCPN waypoints
For those interested I have created a 'POI ARCHIVE' where you may upload/download new POI's as they become available. I have also added a brief note about recommended usage.
You can access the archive here: 4shared folder - POI ARCHIVE
Enjoy!

Re: Software to introduce hypertext links in OpenCPN waypoints
Robert..
For some of the POI's in a track I was just using the 'Comments' area at the top.
For some reason the first Comment repeated itself to all the waypoints.
In this case, all the waypoints have unique timestamps,so that is not the reason.

'Write a note and a description' = Comments

I never experienced this bug ... it's hard to know what is happening without the GPX file. Could you send the "gpx" file ?

Re: Software to introduce hypertext links in OpenCPN waypoints
The 'Write a note and a description' box does not clear itself after 'Save'
Each time you make a new note, you have to first clear the previous one.
I will try to re-create an example.

If you go to another Poi in the same GPX file, you'll see the comment window is empty (provided this other Poi did not have already a comment written)

Thanks Piotr..
Yes I agree, more easily accessed and you can just click 'the eye' to hide it.
I have included the WX_WOLD.gpx in my POI library.
4shared folder - POI ARCHIVE

Hi,
indeed it's a nice feature, especially for those which like to extend existing s-57 enc charts without access to a commercial S-57 Editor.
In aspects of usablilty I would prefer to add all informations in a single document and to display this document directly. I just did a ugly hack and added lighthttpd to OpenCPN, so you will able to format and display your descriptions in (x)html. Parameters like latidude/longitude could be passed via get parameters. Lighthttpd is available for all platforms, small and pretty fast.
Clicking on a waypoint/marker with left mouse button has no effect - I wonder if it would be useful to display additional information instead (if available) - this would be useful for touchpad installations.
Kind regards
Georg

Re: Software to Introduce Hypertext Links in OpenCPN Waypoints
Hi,
I created some POIs and all were working fine. But today internal links, to the files in my PC (pics and texts), at the labels of the POI's are not opened. External urls still work fine.
Why? How can I solve it please?
I attached the opencpnlog file here.

Hasan,MarinePOI is independent of OpenCPN.If the links are "broken"it is most likely not something to do with OpenCPN.
see http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...tml#post843844
and http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...tml#post843861
So,you see that MarinePOI works best if copies of your pictures or whatever files are in the same folder with the MarinePOI gpx! But,there is a workaround ,if you need it...just write a simple ".bat" file and put it in thePOIfolder.see:
http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...tml#post851092
so to link to a file outside the POI's folder, just write a new notepad file..say as an example,
"C:\My Documents\AnInterestingtextFile.txt"
That's all.Nothing more.Save the text file as anyname you like, but change the ".txt" to ".bat"
Now,put the .bat file you just made IN the POI 'folder and Link to it.
Voila!

Re: Software to Introduce Hypertext Links in OpenCPN Waypoints
Thank you Happy Seagull,
However gpx and the linked files are in the same folder.
Also when I try to open the same file with MarinePoi I can not and get the below eror message:
Erreur d'ececution '9'
Indice en dehors de la plage

Re: Software to Introduce Hypertext Links in OpenCPN Waypoints
Boraxtr, well, that's different then.Sorry I have to go over all the wrong answers first!
The clue could be in the gpx files themselves.(you can just drag them into an internet browser to look at them)What do the links have that is wrong? The path?or what? Also,I'd look in the temp folder, that is in the POI's folder. It has all the backups. They are actually gpx files too.Do any of them work?

Re: Software to Introduce Hypertext Links in OpenCPN Waypoints
11:35:15 AM: Error: Failed to open URL "file://C:\Program Files\OpenCPN\Limanlar\Cyclades\Kea(Korissia).jpg" in default browser. (error -2147467259: belirtilmemis hata)
given that error, the other possibility has todo with the browser.Drag the jpeg into it and see if it opens it.
When I open a link,(openCPN 2.5)my default picture viewer opens it-not the browser
or,a text file opens in the default text editor. But a browser should do it too.
