SF Bay AIS feed

Does anyone know of a currently working online AIS feed for SF Bay other than 207.7.139.10:80?

Thanks Conachair, but I get the feeling you only read the subject and not my actual post. I am looking for any SF Bay feed besides that one. That particular feed seems to have a problem with not including the static data feeds for Class A transmissions.

Re: SF Bay AIS feed

This may not help, but if you can set up an AIS feed from your location and send that to aishub.com, you can then access the combined world-wide feed from aishub.

I have an AIS receiver north of San Francisco (near Bodega Bay) that gets good offshore coverage and spotty in-bay coverage, that I could perhaps open up for you in a few days when I get there. Right now it's just feeding aishub and a few other sites (including the exploratorium).

Re: SF Bay AIS feed

I wrote a script to scrape a website including the SF bay. Here is my post, it uses phantomjs:

Re: SF Bay AIS feed

Bit of a latecomer to this thread.

Now a liveaboard in South San Francisco, I am thinking of putting up my AIS data to AIS Hub. With a mast top antenna, it has a fairly decent reception of Central Bay and South Bay. Not difficult but requires a bit of a set-up for me. Is it worth to put it out there?

Re: SF Bay AIS feed

I would take a look at AisHub coverage (and MarineTraffic.com coverage, as the two networks are different), and see if you might be able to improve the reception in your area. Even if the coverage is already good, redundancy is a good thing because stations do go off-line on occasion. Also, if you contribute you will have access to the worldwide network data, which may be useful if you are developing AIS products or software.

So do it if it helps, or just sounds like fun.

Re: SF Bay AIS feed

I got myself added to AIS Hub as San Francisco 2404 station:

AIS Source 2404 (San Francisco)

It is pretty cool. I wish there were more stations.

I really like that they have a share alike approach. Based on that data, I am building a database and making vessel routes available on my website, here is an example: MMSI 636017263 a Bulk Carrier which transited Panama Canal to San Francisco Bay.

Re: SF Bay AIS feed

Seems to me that this feed is nearly dead. Couple of month ago I so tens of messages per second on this feed, and now I see 1 every couple of minutes.

Does anyone know what happened?

Re: SF Bay AIS feed

Which one? If you mean 2404, I discontinued it and reinitiated it as station 2812 later. But it is a roaming station operating from my boat, so after our San Francisco to Los Angeles passage, it is now stationed at Marina Del Rey

Re: SF Bay AIS feed

Sorry for not being more precise. I was asking about the status of ais.exploratorium.edu port 80 protocol TCP.

It is up and running right now. I have also noticed over past few weeks it only shows the ATON beacons and not any ships. But today it is showing lots of ship traffic.
