SASPlanet vs GE2KAP

Anybody care to expound on the pros and cons of each, for getting satellite imagery into O?

There is nothing to compare on them, GE2KAP can use SASPlanet to get the imagery instead of GoogleEarth.
If you meant comparing SASPlanet with GoogleEarth, there again is little to compare, both do work with GE2KAP to generate KAPs for OpenCPN, you can have both at the same time, SASPlanet can access many more imagery sources, some of them not exactly obeying their license terms. Which one to use depends on what you want to do and where and which imagery is the best at that spot (Which with sat imagery usually depends on cloud cover and time of the day when the photos were taken).

Re: SASPlanet vs GE2KAP

I used sash planet for several years, found it easy to use and gave me more options to ie Nokia, Google earth, Bing etc.
I now use Ovitalmap on my tablet, it's just really simple. I can easily flick between navionics and ovitalmap.
