S63 Plugin Problem

Hello everybody,

i'm using OpenCPN (Version 4.0.0 Build 2015-01-08) on Linux (4.2.3 x86_64) with S63 plugin. So far everything worked fine, but i somehow damaged the installation by adding chartworld zip-file updates (and later reinstalling all charts) into the resp. directory.

The keys and permits seem o.k. and i succesfully imported all cell permits.

When importing the charts from the ENC_ROOT directory structure, the S63_pi backchannel server reports the attached error messages.

Does anybody know how to deal with this?

Hi Kudder,

as the log is telling us:
the raw files are not in place.

The S-63 sets as received have to stay on your machine after install. Creating the eSENC and afterwards withdrawing the media does not work:
- copy the install sets to a directory
- and install from where
- as the Cell Permits are in place you will most probably not to have to re-install those. Just the cells/the charts under Root.enc

thanks for the quick reply. I could solve the problem with that, at least the charts are displayed again.

There remain a few errors though (see attached log extract). Without going into it too far, could this be due to charts running out of the drm-payment period?

Hi Kudder,

no, these messages are telling us only that the original cells you want to install are not present.
This has nothing to do with the licensing period.
You can install outdated cell permits without problems and then the corresponding cells as well.
Will give just the yellow SSE25 warning about expired cells that must not be used for navigation on the display.

Perhaps you might uninstall your cell files and cell permits and try a clean install again.
Difficult to say which directory might have been copied or moved. You might know if you remember still...
