See error message. When you try to "ok" the message a new error with another number pops up. Also it is impossible to quit opencpn or to kill the opencpn process with sudo kill(processnumber)

can you forward us the offending cell permit file please (the PERMIT.txt)?

And (or before) can you download the PERMIT.txt file again?
Is this a new one or are you installing a Permit that has been used already?
Asking because the error indicates a broken file. Which should not stall OpenCPN of course...

I think the error was that I by a mistake opened the "INFO/PRODUCTS.TXT" file instead of PERMIT.TXT

Since I no way was able to kill opencpn while this error message was displayed, I had to reboot, this time I used the correct PERMIT.TXT and everything worked fine.

Maybe it would be possible to only allow to open "PERMIT.TXT" for the next version , since this error made the system completely locked ? The PRODUCTS.TXT contains more than 10 000 lines so it might be that the error would disappear if I pressed OK for every new error message 10 000 times ?

Looks that we will need a "cancel" option in order to avoid the "10.000 clicks on ok".

Imagine a file with some TByte....
