Rpi Crash report...
Had an OpenCPN crash on my OpenPlotter Rpi installation.

Not sure if this information could be useful.

I have been having a similar crash to this periodically.
Usually the display becomes mostly frozen.
But this time OpenCPN closed and there are more errors in the log.

I had been panning through some scanned charts.
I had also added some configuration to try to limit the memory used by OpenCPN to Opencpn.conf:

I found, that when I experienced unexplainable behaviour in openplotter it was either due to bad/unstable powersupply or the quality of the sd card. - maybe to check voltage and replace sh card helps.

A good power suplly is very important. I'am using a stabilized isolated 12 to 5volt. Voltage adjusted on 5.2 volt.

Running perfect with OpenGL on (no texture caching) and VC4 driver on.

Try the standard config.

Simply by removing or renaming the present one.

Then you get a bare OpenCPN and simply repeat the settings of O.

Raspberry setting is 64.

Running now via VNC headless on a Chromebook.
I investigated the possibility of a bad power supply.
First if the voltage drops slightly a message is written into the system log.
Second if the voltage drops enough that the system can not continue a coloured screen appears.
Neither of those things is happening on my system.

I have two different SD cards that both exhibit the same problem.

The error is being logged in the system log.

I assume you are referring to 64M of GPU memory.
First: I have had this problem with both 16M and 256M of GPU memory configured.
Second: Recently the developer of the VC4 driver told me that his driver is not even using that memory.

There is quite a bit of confusion on that subject.

gpu_mem is not used by vc4, so whatever the firmware isn't using is
wasted.

You don't get messages about low power errors.

What power supply are you using?

I'am using a Main Well SD25A-5 set at 5.2 volt.

Important is a good power cable. A lot of these cheap usb cables have very thin treads.

Also a bit higher then 5 volt also works better.

VC4 uses the graphical processor. But if you increase the GPU allocation it probably cannot be used by other applications. I have the best results with 64. The default setting.

I do not normally get any under-voltage messages in the system log.
But, if I intentionally drop the voltage as a test there is a warning in the system log:

That's a big DC/DC converter you are using.
I have a Yeeco 3A DC/DC converter with a short USB cable.

I don't know, but what is happening here is definitely being reported as CMA memory running out. It is also happening while OpenCPN is in full screen and OpenGL mode, it still happens when I configure the GPU MEMORY to 256M
