Route Manager Freezes

I am running 3.0 on Windows 7.

When I try to open route manager there is either a long delay or it freezes the system and i have to restart the application.

I do have many routes, waypoints, charts, and Google earth .kap files active in the system.

The problem did not occur in my previous version, 2.5 I think it was. Should I revert to 2.5? If so how can I do this without loosing all my files?

Thanks very much for your help,

Roger

rtblock1...

How many trackpoints ,waypoints, and routes do you have?
How large is your navobj.xml file?

Dave

I have been deleting tracks, waypoints, and routes until the route manager became responsive. It is now responsive and the Navobj file is 393KB. I deleted about 10,000kb of tracks, waypoints, and routes to get to this point where responsiveness was restored.

Interestingly, my wife is running the complete 10,300kb set of routes, waypoints, and tracks on her machine with none of the problems with route manager that I am experiencing. her machine is also only a single processor running Windows 7 while mine is a dual processor running Windows 7.

Thanks for your interest, any thoughts would be appreciated,

Roger

Re: Route Manager Freezes

Hello Dave
Thank you for the work. I have the same problem as rtblock1. Save trace to the layers became very long
Asus 1000H
XP pack3
OCPN v3.0
Navobj: 101 kb

In addition, some users of the tutorial (French 1) pose a question:
It is a shame not to query a WP trace directly from the trace on the screen ... (Attachment)

Regards and sorry for my poor english .... (my French is better)

rtblock1....

The difference in your two machines must relate to memory and/or disk access speed.

I find that a 10 GB navobj.xml file is really beyond the reasonable design limits of OpenCPN, and so may or may not be usable, depending on your system capabilities.

Re: Route Manager Freezes

Thanks for looking into this Dave.

I'll save the tracks to separate file and import them when necessary.
