recognizing GPS through a bluetooth multiplexer

Hi all,

I am trying to get OpenCPN (v. 3.0.2) on my laptop running Windows 8 to recognize a GPS through a ShipModul miniplexer-BT over a bluetooth connection (using a BT USB adaptor). I can tell that the laptop is pairing with the multiplexer, and I've installed the ShipModul driver. I don't really know what to do with this application- MiniPlex Configuration Tool, but it seems as though it is receiving information from the multiplexer when it is on and paired with the computer.

However, when I go into the ToolBox in OpenCPN, on the GPS tab, I don't see any good choices under NMEA options. Am I missing a step? I've followed directions for the port settings in Device Manager as well.

I've just downloaded O 3.2.2, and will try it out. Should I also try the beta versions?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

There's a lot of fixes in this area since 3.0.2, so upgrade is essential. And yes, try the latest beta if 3.2.2 will be a no go.
