Recent Upgrade to 5.0.0 and toolbar is new

I recently upgraded OpenCPN to 5.0.0 from an earlier version.

The tool bar is now very limited with only some of the buttons I had before.

How can I regain my previous tool bar? Or have the option to add new items to the current bar?

The new bar is now on the right side how can I have it appear on top?

Some of the features are now in the "chart panel options" bar on the bottom left (One of the reasons for this is that you can now display more than one chart window and have different settings in each). The rest should still be left toolbar. Have you installed and enabled all your plugins?


No functionality has been removed.



You'll get used to the toolbar being on the left.

I've just recently upgraded and tested V5 again & agree it's a big improvement, many thanks! Hakan's link are very helpful.

However my sight is not as good as it used to be, so I'd like to change the colouring in the toolbar, and also in the activated Route drop down window. Grey icons on a black background are difficult for me to read, as is the green letters on the black background in the Route window.

I see your point about a more modern design of the toolbar icons has somewhat decreased the readability. Not less if the screen contrast is poor. Since prebuilt icons are used there is no obvious way to change details for the toolbars. It's though possible to change the size if that could help. >> Tools->User Interface->"User interface scale factor". Change size using the slider.


For the active route consol it's more or less the same. The font size is controlled by Tools->User Interface->Fonts->Console legend/value.
The background is not able to change but try to change font color to white for more contrast. ("Black" is default but is of course changed to green by the program code.)
