Raspberry Pi and oesenc

ahoy!
I tried to generate a fingerprint-file on my RPI running openCPN 5.0 but failed. I purchased charts on my Desktop Computer some time ago and now wanted to generate a key on my second device, the Raspberry. 'Error 2', said the log.
Maybe someone has a hint for me?!

regards, Matthias

Re: Raspberry Pi and oesenc

"error 2" would be the server in maintenance mode. Did you try later again?

Why do you try to generate the fpr manually?

Which version of the plug-in are you using?

Can you log-in into your o-charts account?

yes, in the charts-section (oeSENC Tab) I see the charts I purchased on my mac, but cannot download onto the Raspberry ('Status: System FPR Upload Error)

Re: Raspberry Pi and oesenc

At the RasPi same as on the rest of the systems the online way with fpr handling in the background shall work.
From the Options|Charts|oeSENC tab and "refresh"

You might try to reset the credentials first from Options|Plug-ins|oeSENC --> Preferences. Just in case...

Re: Raspberry Pi and oesenc

Please the complete one.
You can attach it here if you rename it to .doc to overcome size restrictions.

Re: Raspberry Pi and oesenc

strange thing. seems that OpenCPN is selfcompiled binary but oesenc comes from debian package. is that right?

BlackSea...
For the convenience of linux users, we deploy all of OpenCPN and its plugins as debian packages.

You may compile oesenc_pi from source if you wish.

you didn't understand. Error is not with me. I'm just trying to understand how error could occur with @lagita.

Re: Raspberry Pi and oesenc

ahoy,

I cannot save the log to another document. Also I do not know why the log is hidden, had some trouble finding it. Typical beginners problems I guess.
So I postponed the task to have AIS (and the RasPi) on board while cruising to swedish shores. Have a good time and I hope I get evrything fixed (with you help!) in august/september!

Best, Matthias

Re: Raspberry Pi and oesenc

Matthias,

the log you access via the About or Help button from the tool bar (the "?").

And for RasPi, consider OpenPlotter. You will need just to plug-in the AIS...

Happy sailing

Re: Raspberry Pi and oesenc

thanks Hubert,

open plotter is an option, yes. But I have to connect the dAISy HAT to the RasPi and the GPS, and I am not sure if that will be easy. Time flies, and have paper charts and Navionics gold on board ;-)

ciao Matthias

Re: Raspberry Pi and oesenc

The developer of OpenPlotter tells me that there is no problem to use the dAISy Hat...
