Problem with Displaying Two Maps with Different Scales at the Same Time

I use OpenCPN 2.1.0 Build 624A under Windows XP.
When I display an area where I have two maps with different scales and the map with the higher resulution covers most of the space, the display is correct (see map1.jpg).
As soon as I move the map a bit and the map with the lower resulution covers most of the space, I get the low resulution for the entire space even for the area where the better resulution is available (see map2.jpg).
Has anybody found a way to make OpenCPN to display that correctly?
