Back to the OP's question: I prefer the appearance of raster charts and use them pretty well all the time. Occasionally I feel like I'm being a Luddite and try to use the vector charts but I always end up back with the raster versions. My understanding is that the paper charts are the source document and everything from there is a copy (translation: risk of error). So it seems to me the raster charts should ultimately also be the most accurate. BICBW.

Yes, I tried on my newer machine and both raster and vector work nicely.
