I understand the imperitive download location. I agree that it would be easier for users to include the data. But even better to have one version with data a d a other without.
You will have to wait for the pluggins to get sorted avnd updated. I do not know what pavel will do.

- The plugin tells you what to do with the data file when you use it.
No, it is impossible to shutdown the two windows opened. See screen copy.

I have only reported the results of my tests. Tests carried out because the French forum H & O, some users have asked for help.
But I'm happy to be alive.

Same applies to all plugins needing data.

Note: I have absolutely no time to develop a new installer.

Too bad, I had dreamed of.
Gilletarom.
Note : Please, with climatology, the actual mo file, in the installer, seem not the last.
Pavel,
Consider having
1. Plugin + data
2. Plugin only
For guys w/o fast inet.

Considered. Denied. Too confusing, I need to do other stuff than explain people that they downloaded wrong package. Describing it obviously does not work.
I agree, I would deny this. I would only consider a package without data if the data is very large and optional to the function (like documentation)
It is likely in the future climatology will have a much larger optional dataset which will allow for a lot more analysis and in this case it will be separated.

But in this case, it will take an installer able to facilitate the integration of data files in the data folder. Otherwise, if it's like with the current version, it will be a nightmare for alpha users.
Pfuuuu .... Pavel, you're out of luck, it will grow another installer!
unless ... Sean stops one day develop ... But this is not the day before tomorrow !

Pavel, I think this is a good approach.
[in future]Perhaps step back to an installer with the first data set which is slightly smaller and then provide another windows installer for the larger dataset to keep win users happy...
So now.. the climatology binaries on sourceforge do not contain the data and this is real confusing for new users, especially windows users who don't know how to extract a tar.xz file

First they say "Download & install OpenCPN. Version 4.0.0 and above are supported. " Then they say "Please use the latest version of OpenCPN - our plug in may work with older version but we are developing for 4.0+"
The GoodAnchorage plugin works only with OpenCPN 4.0+ and will never work with older versions - it needs functions that were not available, there just was some "noise", sorry for that...

Yachtvalhalla would you please take this discussion to the GoodAnchorage thread listed above? That is the whole point of this "Plugin Thread"! - On that thread see my post and ask Demitri if the website can be corrected. Thanks.
