Place names

Hello all,

Is there a setting I'm missing which allows the place names to be shown? I don't see anything on the cm93 charts I have.

Regards,
Simon

Re: Place names

I have been using CPN 3.3.2 for a while and, due to a computer problem, recently re-installed it and I now have exactly the same problem as Simon. I'm using CM93 vector charts and have both text boxes enabled in Mariner's Standard. All other symbols and layered chart info appears to be functioning correctly - just no text. The ENC text button clicks on and off but changes nothing.

Re: Place names

Do you have the "Built-up area", "Sea area" and "Seabed area" selected as well? Most of the texts on the charts are associated with these, at least on the US ENC charts... The "Text" objects basically don't exist on most of the charts.

Re: Place names

Yes. To make absolutely sure, I have now selected all the options in Mariner's Standard. Everything is there and working, as far as I can tell without doing spot checks all over the place but no text at all, although clicking on the information symbols does bring up the information. It is just the actual names of places, marks, etc. which don't appear., I will now try reinstalling.

Re: Place names

UPDATE
Uninstalled CPN and reinstalled from a new download and, Hey Presto, everything now works.
