Ownship Scaling

I'm having trouble getting ownship scaling to work on my system (win7/32 OpenCPN 3.0.2).

If I add a line "OwnshipMinMM=5" to the opencpn.ini file under the [Settings] header, the manual states

"If OwnshipMinMM=kk is specified, the built-in yacht icon will be used, and scaled as though it represented a vessel 12 Metres long, scaled up or down according to the display chart zoom factor. However, the minimum size will not be less than (kk) mm. In no case will ship icon be smaller than 1 mm on screen."

With kk=5, according to TFM, I should get a built-in yacht icon that changes size as the charts are zoomed and is never smaller than 5 mm.

I get the built-in icon, but it doesn't scale.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Added:
Make sure O is not running when you edit the ini file.
Otherwise,
Zoom in MORE.
assuming, that,
Just to be clear, when you have it set as
OwnshipMinMM=5 you see as I do.
I see a weeny 5mm icon UNTIL I zoom in a lot.This is much smaller than the default.

If I also adjust the setting
OwnshipLengthMeters= 15, the icon will begin to grow as soon as the zoom allows it, maintaining the boat to scale.
