Output Routes to Raymarine C120 Classic?

As a follow up, I have since found out that the AIS650 has a multiplexer function of sorts and the laptop can provide NMEA to the 4800 inputs on the 650 which then sends to the c120. To do this, I have connected a new 3rd com/USB cable using TX from the laptop to the AIS650 4800 baud INPUT. This works fine and routes appear in the C120. This way I don't have to turn off the AIS650 or reconfigure any ports on the laptop or the C120. I am happy with this configuration.

Yes I need to sit down and do a diagram of the whole thing. That bunch of wires behind the helm electronics panel looks like spaghetti soup and I have just begun to sort it out.

I would now like to get openCPN to control the autopilot. I know folks on this forum are doing that. Any suggestion on how to start with that project?
