this should not be necessary and if you just reset the credentials your charts are not implied by any means. "Create System Identifier" just generates an actual fingerprint file - nothing else. Does not enable anything.
Anyhow, good to hear that you have the charts running...

Upgraded to v.5 on Win 10 PC, and can't dock left dashboard panel...

The 5.0 upgrade just showed up in Mint 18.3 (Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial) software update app. Update went smoothly. Great work!

Install went smotthly on pi running Raspbian ..


Was able to generate an oesenc fingerprint, log in, request a chart via opencpn etc ... and all went fine, right intil I hit "download chart" at which point it crashes without writing anything to the log, no error shown on command prompt either. Reproducible.

What is the version of the oesenc plugin? Look in settings->plugins->oesenc->Preferences. See attachment. In this image, the version is 2.9.1516

Upgraded from 4.8.8 on Ubutu 16.04 and everything went perfect. Even oeSENC, NmeaConverter, LogbookKonni and all charts came up without a hitch. Some minor configuration updates due to added and well looking/functioning features.

Great job and thanks to the whole OpenCPN crew.

Even the sun has dark spots!
I found a problem when OpenCPN 5.0 is started with S57 oeSENC charts as last used chart option, it displays charts lacking information.

The log then displays a large number of messages like:
Missing ls_list on FEATURE: CLSUB
Missing ls_list on FEATURE: PIPARE
Missing ls_list on FEATURE: CINARE
Missing ls_list on FEATURE: DMPGRD
Missing ls_list on FEATURE: CTNARE
Missing ls_list on FEATURE: BUAARE
Missing ls_list on FEATURE: ACHARE
Missing ls_list on FEATURE: ROADWY
Missing ls_list on FEATURE: RAILWY
Missing ls_list on FEATURE: TUNNEL
Missing ls_list on FEATURE: DRYDOC



Starting with a raster chart active works just fine.

Have you tried to force a full chart database rebuild? You should find two selections under Options->Charts where you can add chart folders to force rebuild and rescan chart files.

tried that as well, it didn't help. Funny thing is that if I shut down OpenCPN, clicking the X, and then restart it manually then it starts ok. This only seems to happen if OpenCPN is started automatically when the machine is started,

Right now trying to find a decent way to delay OpenCPN start to see if that helps.

Swedish oeSENC charts, will try to add tools to generate a screenshot. This is on a minimal Ubutu 16.04 installation with just the essentials (XFCE etc.) for OpenCPN.

2.4.0 it seems ... no idea why it is so far behind .. I shall apt-get remove everything and try again ... I thought I did remove everything from beta testing, chnaged my sources list back to standard and did and apt-get update and a apt-get install afetr everything was removed so not sure why the oesenc-pi plugin is not the latest ...


As a note: I can see in .opencpn/oesenc/ it has created a .zip file for the download, but the filesize is zero

Does zooming in or panning make a difference? Or selecting a different chart from the chart bar?
