Where did you get this build? Such a commit does not exist in whole OpenCPN's history...

If you want to download builds from Appveyor, make sure you are downloading builds from the master branch, unless you are specially interested in some specific pull request...

Is this new? Since when? Anyone else see this?

Thanks

Dave...

As I have already written one post above, this is sure not a build from the master tree. Maybe something from https://github.com/OpenCPN/OpenCPN/pull/1232 ...

Terry...

Please read the last few posts and pay attention what you are downloading. It will save you a lot of frustration and us some time. The appveyor CI platform builds a lot of stuff for us, not all of it is the latest code. Please if you really must use these builds and not the ones we release as beta (Which means we are done with what we want you to test), use only the ones coming from the master branch:

Rebuild your chart database, please...

I had used 'Scan charts and update database' which gave the large outlines. After doing 'Force Full Database Rebuild' they are OK.

Learning something all the time. Or is this a problem?

No, this is not a problem. The "Scan charts..." checks if the files changed on disks and re-reads them only if they did. That was not the case. If it did something different, it will be doing the full rebuild (And was the same slower).

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Beta Release 4.99.1426

Dave,

I've just installed the latest build and it fixes the chart outline as expected. I do have two questions/problems:

1. While playing with Chart Scale (Ctrl-Left/Right) with the last version I notice that a left click on the piano bar was no longer hiding the charts, still true. Not sure why this happened. The left click no acts the same as it does with KAPs. Is this intended?

2. I get weird screen artifacts when scrolling around with a higher detailed chart - see video link below (also mbtiles link below). Is this my PC?

Geoffr,

I think you will find that for mbtiles charts the action is different from KAP charts. This is a battle I lost when discussed on the Flyspray tasklist. The answer was it is designed that way.

Here's my writeup for new users regarding how to view KAP versus mbtiles charts. Hoping to ease the frustration during the transition to O5.
Download here.

Not necessary to click on the "red X". Clicking anywhere in the piano key will toggle the tile overlay visibility.

Thanks
