I assume in the case of the RPi you mean the folder ".opencpn/SVG/MarkIcons", in which case the answer is no I don't.

Hakan...

"Empty" markicon is strange on Win10. Shows black square when first created. Close OCPN, and restart, and then all is well.

An oddity, only seen on Windows AFAICT. Anyone else see this?

I think we can live with that, but it should go onto the flyspray list.

Correction: that should be "/usr/share/opencpn/uidata/markicons" directory. And yes, I do have Symbol-Empty.svg.

duichan...

Thanks for the report. I was concerned that the new "empty" icon had not made it into the build.

But the problem is elsewhere, it seems.

I see this for both "Empty" and "Marks-Blank" with 4.8.0 running in Win10.

1 - I've the Symbol-Empty.svg on all locations needed. Not less in "C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenCPN\uidata\markicons"
2 - Close and restart: Yes it's correct BUT only if you've an "empty" WP on chart when closing. Then also next empty WP is directly shown correct.
3 - On Win10: Yes probably. Not seen in Linux. Haven't yet tested on XP though.
4 - I agree we can live with this.

Dave..
To complete my point 2 above.
If I delete all "empty" WP and close O the black square is back for a new WP after restart.

Re: OpenCPN Version 4.8.0 Released

Hello All,

For the security of the PC, I'm satisfied with Windows Defender. Am I naive ??? And so, O installed himself without any problem. But several French users can not install it because their AVAST antivirus prevents them.

O4.8 installed without problem although I had only one choice: Parallel installation due to the tests carried out with previous beta.

Having said that, I am now twenty miles further west than this morning.

OpenCPN worked without problem by displaying the route created last night with the previous version (4.6.26 on my PC), route enabled and disabled without problem. Route changed along the way to another route. Trace recorded. Route and trace exported.
And I used VDR to record the NMEA data.

Gilletarom...

"Having said that, I am now twenty miles further west than this morning."

More information, please. I do not understand the problem, if any.

Thanks
Dave

No I don't think so. When Win10 was introduced I uninstalled every other antivirus pgm. Defender is good enough for me.

Re: OpenCPN Version 4.8.0 Released

Running O4.8.0 on an RPi3 with OpenGL (vc4-fkms) enabled. I replay some VDR data containing AIS messages, amongst other NMEA sentences, and the display gets corrupted. Black areas appear where other ship locations should be plotted. Eventually the whole display goes haywire.

Repeating this with the AIS data edited out of the VDR file and all is fine.
This file previously played perfectly in O4.6.

Is there a way I can get the VDR file in question?

I agree. If you want to have extra protection beyond Defender something like Malware-Bytes is useful IMO. But many of the non-mainstream anti virus tools are next to useless. Defender is constantly up to date and covers every virus M$SFT knows about. And it is much less hassle than Symantec, McAfee and similar.
