This is true with OpenGL ON or OFF.

@Gilletarom

Yes it's a windows / unix thing.

Most plugins use "*.*", on unix it doesn't select all files but only files with a dot.
They should use wxFileSelectorDefaultWildcardStr

Please, see my previous post about white sqarre when I run O461 on linuw Ubuntu.

This link to download a video with white square.

DL.FREE.FR

I had the idea to disable all plugins. The problem has disappeared.
Then I activated one by one the plugins. It is the BR24 plugin that causes these white squares at startup.

Re: OpenCPN Version 4.6.1 Released

A trifle...
Using Maitai's qtVlm gshhs download (because it is already downloaded on my computer) I get the following warning
"GSHHS World chart files have wrong version. Found 234, expected 210-220."
Actually, the most recent version seems to be 2.3.6

Scroll down the table on the right either with the slider or the mouse wheel.
The object you are searching is quite a way down.

Sure it's not down near the bottom if you scroll down on the right hand pane?

Edit - beaten to it

Re: OpenCPN Version 4.6.1 Released

Hi
When I open Draw Manager with icon, then close with red x or the OK button, it takes 2 clicks of the icon to open the draw manager again.
However if I close by clicking the icon, it only takes 1 click to reopen.

Same problem with show NMEA debug window.
When I tick box for NMEA, the window appears.
When I use the red X the window disappears, but the tick remains.
I have to then untick the box, then retick to see the NMEA window appear.
If I try to untick the box while NMEA window is still open, the window just goes to the background of the options window.
If I close the options window with the box ticked, it opens the next time with the tick still showing but no NMEA window opens.

Also red x in dashboard window is on the RH top corner,(always has) all other windows it appears LH top,(ubuntu standard) a bit confusing for those reliant on glasses especially in night conditions.

O 4.6.1
ubuntu 16.04

Grey polygons are drawn in places. Object query brings no information on them. Haven't seen them earlier, or at least haven't seen them persist after full map cache rebuild. See screenshot.

Re: OpenCPN Version 4.6.1 Released

mrm,

I'm guessing this is Ubuntu Linux. I have same system and have never seen these. Does it happen with or without OpenGL turned on? Are there any hints in the opencpn.log file?

Re: OpenCPN Version 4.6.1 Released

mrm...

Are the grey areas persistent, or are they variable in placement/size/chart/etc.?

Only on cm93?

Thanks
Dave

Dave,

they are depending on zoom. Zooming out will make them disappear at a certain zoom level, while once present, further zooming in will not make them disappear. The placement seems consistent.

Further info: run a check with 4.5.221 in portable mode. Same problem but one of the areas is now recognized as a fishing facility.

CM93 is all I have for testing in vector flavor.

@Dan

with and without OpenGL.

Nothing obvious in log.

Re: OpenCPN Version 4.6.1 Released

On my Raspberry Pi 2 with the official Pi 7" touch screen the Chart Downloader plugin is unusable. The "New Chart Source" window opens with the catalogue pane overwritten by the Chart Directory selection box. There is plenty of screen real estate available.

There doesn't seem to be anyway available to resize the window.

See screen shot.
