rgleason, I tried to do just that but got the message: 'Err #15: You don't have sufficient permissions to open a task' even if a rights check says I should be able to.

So that may be another problem, being properly registered as 'StillAfloat' in the tracker system I should be allowed to register bugs. How do I report that 'bug' .... Catch22

FYI, I entered this into Flyspray as a v4.2 bug, since your note said you confirmed it in 4.2. I skipped over 4.2 to 4.4, so I have not verified the problem in 4.2. I only observed it in 4.4.

Let me know if I should have entered it as a 4.4 bug instead of (or in addition to) what I already entered.

It will take some time to determine the root cause and post a correction. I'm a bit backed up at the moment.

Meanwhile, there is a workaround which worked for me. Simply edit the config file and change the ChartDir path(s) in there into a full, absolute path. Start O, Rebuild the database, and restart O. For me, this allows GL to work as normal.

Of course, in your world, it may not be so simple. You may need relative paths to accommodate relocated disk images. If so, this workaround might not help you as much.

Hi all, has there been any progress on this bug? Before I do any offseason testing and reconfiguration, it would be good to know whether three is a beta I should be using. For this issue that I described, it only makes sense to test a beta if code related to this issue has been changed.

OK, thanks for letting me know. I'll focus on reconfiguring current stable 4.4 for portable use.

Sorry I haven't been around much lately. My new (to me) boat (Catalina 34MkII) has required a lot of other project work. Chartplotter program was way down the list, so I had to just continue using v4.0. It's still SO MUCH better than the Garmin chartplotter that came with the boat! This winter I hope to do the necessary electronic work to integrate O with the Raymarine instruments on the boat, much as I did with my last boat.

Hello Dave,

Little Bug with O4.4.

I run Open OCPN,
I go to Options/Plugins
I desable chartdownloader and use "Apply"
I Take a screen copy
Y use "Activate" and use "Apply" (or "Ok ?)
Then in Options, I have two tab chartdownloder ... Strange.

I re_try and now, 3 tab chartdownloader ....

I have some 10000 continuous lines of

I thought a few lines would suffice before maybe timing out.

It appears to me that this only ceased because I closed the program.
