Re: OpenCPN Version 3.2.2 bugs

Just tried the new version 3.2.2 on Mac OS.

Still finding a few problems with routes and waypoints:

When activating the viewablility of a route (clicking on the X-ed eye), the text for all the routes disappears. You have to close and re-open OpenCPN to get the routes to show again.

When I right-click on a route, click on properties, and try to remove a waypoint from the route, a message pops up ("Are you sure you want etc..."), the program freezes. Only solution is to force-quit and re-start program.

So far, I've seen no other problems.

Sorry, I do not understand the first part of your message. What "text for all the routes", please? Screenshot?

Thanks

Re: OpenCPN Version 3.2.2 Released

It is the text in the "Route Name" column. The Route Names will all be blank, though if you re-start the text of the Route Names will re-appear.

Ron...

I assume we are looking only at the RouteManagerDialog. Sorry, but I cannot reproduce this bug. Works fine for me on SL.

A screenshot, or two, may be helpful.

Thanks
Dave

petter5...
Any chance we could get some more info that could help us identify the problem, like the log, from which version you updated, etc.?

Thanks

Re: OpenCPN Version 3.2.2 Released

petter5....

Are you familiar with the debugger called ddd? It is available in the standard linux repos.

If you install ddd ($sudo apt-get install ddd), and then run opencpn under the debugger as

$ddd opencpn

Make it crash, then go to ddd screen and look at the Status->Backtrace tab. Take a screenshot, and post it here. This is the fastest way for the developers to debug a linux crash.

Thanks
Dave

p.s. Interested writers are invited to document the use of ddd in the wiki, for eventual inclusion in the user manual. I dunno how many times I have explained this process in the forum

Re: OpenCPN Version 3.2.2 Released

petter5....

OK. We will try a fresh configuration load.

Please save a copy of ~/.opencpn/opencpn.conf.

Then,
$rm ~/.opencpn/opencpn.conf
$rm ~./opencpn/navobj.xml

Then try opencpn as usual.
$opencpn

If this works, please post the contents of opencpn.conf and navobj.xml here.

Thanks
Dave
