Re: OpenCPN Version 3.0.1 Beta Build 0703
Thank you Dave!
The Ubuntu 12.04 packages are now available.
Important note. There is nothing in the naming of this version that differs from the previous. Your system may not recognize 0703 as an update. In such case, force an update, or uninstall the previous beta first. To differ one version from the other, check the creation date for the package.
Once installed check the version in the blue "?" "About" tab.
Thomas

Re: OpenCPN Version 3.0.1 Beta Build 0703
Hi!
The windows package is updated as well as of now. The same as for Ubuntu applies - the installer still says version 3.0.1 and asks if you want to reinstall, just do it to get the new version (You can check the actual build you are running in the about box).

Re: OpenCPN Version 3.0.1 Beta Build 0703
JP...
We are using https://github.com/OpenCPN/OpenCPN for the post 3.0 development - much more convenient for everybody. The SF repository will be populated with 3.0.2 code once it's released.
On github there are currently 3 branches:
master - will be 3.1 beta, lot of changes
stable - the latest released version (currently 3.0.0, will be 3.0.2 - same as the repo on SF)
beta30_stable - 3.0.1 beta code (the version released here)

Re: OpenCPN Version 3.0.1 Beta Build 0703
Thanks Pavel
I got 3.01 OK
I tried also to get "master" branch and OK I got 3.1.612 .
(may be it's not the right place to discuss about that ? )
I compiled it OK but can't run it : I get this message log :
""
15:08:40: No styles found at: C:\Users\Jean Pierre\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\Projects\opencpn\Build\Release\uidata\
15:08:40: No styles found at: C:\ProgramData\opencpn\
15:08:40: No styles found at: C:\ProgramData\opencpn\.opencpn\
15:08:40: The requested style was not found:
""
Which data are missing
Thanks a lot
Jean Pierre

Sounds like you have a build, but have not installed it (make install).
You are missing UI Style info, which is put in place by the install step.

Oh, and if you don't want to make install, you can copy src/bitmaps/*.xml and src/bitmaps/*.png manually to any of the locations mentioned in the log file.

19. seems to work now
20. seems to have corrected the original problems, but something new has been added. In the upperleft of the quilt is something strange. It appears to be from an area from the next large scale chart when the smaller scale chart should be displayed. I can't make it happen anywhere else but here.

WD,
Like This?
For these two charts scales are 125,000 (which is wrong ) and 525,000
so my left-field idea is to Check that scale on the offending chart compared to similar charts.... It could be the reason.

..but wait a minute, I can do this bad overlay with 25000 on the 525000 too.

wd and Happy...
I'm lost. What are you talking about, in "developer English" please.
I see no picture from wd, and Happy's looks OK to me.
What am I missing?

Re: OpenCPN Version 3.0.1 Beta Build 0703
Dave, not sure if I have what WD is talking about but it sounded similar... What it is, is I don't think that Large scale chart you see in the upper left of my screengrab in the earlier post above should be there...D'you see? I have a 1/125,000 scalechartand a 1/525,000 scalechart showing at the same zoom and, I've seen the same behaviour with a 1/40,000 and a 1/525,000.
It seems odd if only because it's not consistent behaviour- it doesn't happen every time as my screengrabs here show and it's also fairly new behaviour. I don't remember seeing it until the last 2.6Betas ...
Screen grabs of how it should be...and often is...
or

BUT NOT THIS:
The fix I use is to zoom in some more, then zoom out a bit if I want a "level quilt" at a particular scale.
