Re: OpenCPN Version 3.0.0 Release

Chuck...per "Console Legend"- you have to go to Toolbox/Plugins/Preferences/ and finally "Appearance " Tab for the Plugin fonts... Toolbox/Language-Fonts/"Console Legend" doesn't control these.

Umm... Sounds like you've misunderstood how it works. Select a text element and click "Choose Font..." (Not "OK"). Then select the desired font.

When you click "OK" the window closes and it always opens on the top item in the text element list.

OK, Much appreciated. I think I have it all now, except the plug-ins. They all still appear in the plug-in folder that was part of 2.5, now 3.0, but don't show up in the toolbox as they did with 2.5. So I suppose I should delete these and re-download? Chuck

You likely require the latest version of plug-in. I did not delete any, just added the new one. This worked for the BSB plug-in.

Did you check that they are activated in the Plugin tab of the Toolbox?

Re: OpenCPN Version 3.0.0 Release

For a change, I have read the manual and it doesn't seem to help. I'm trying ENC charts for district 9, the Great Lakes. Zoomed out, so as to see all ol Lake Superior, I see 4 or 5 charts that are rendered all in grey. I left click on the chart to centerit and then proceed to zoom in. As soon as the entire screen is filled with grey + 1 to 3 more zooms, and the chart will be rendered correctly. You can zoom out several levels and the chart remains. Zoom in , pan around, it still remains. Zoom out, so that you see all of Lake superior, and it turns grey again. You have to zoom all the way in again to get it to render properly.

David...

I can reproduce this problem, and am investigating. Here is a screenshot for reference.

A solution will likely not be available until the next Beta program starts.

Thanks
Dave

Re: OpenCPN Version 3.0.0 Release

Problem with AIS device that loose connection.

I shifted to OpenCPN-3.0 and I have a strange behaviour, when using AIS as share device with GPS. OpenCPN loose the device after one hour or so. If I do and "lsof" on the /dev/xxx it is not used anymore. A stop/restart of OpenCPN and the device is present. The probleme never occur is the device is declare as a GPS.

Note: I do not see any error in OpenCPN.log, if I try a "gtkterm" the AIS device it still working. If just look like that OpenCPN closed the device and did not reopen it ???

Ubuntu 12.04 with last patches.

Dave,

Thanks for the response.

You can keep the chart in view by staying zoomed in. as you would in actual, on the water, navigation.

It' more of a problem when planning a cruise.

I don't understand exactly what you mean. If you click on this icon

on the toolbar and nothing happens, you probably haven't enabled the gribplugin in ToolBox->Plugins.

Have you downloaded grib files and selected the ones you wish to view?

Re: OpenCPN Version 3.0.0 Release

I do have the grib enabled and I do have a file for gribs. When you click on the icon before a window would open with your grib files. Now when I click on the icon nothing happens.
