Dave:
Who is compiling for OS X on Mac?
Do you know what system version, which version of WxWidgets?

TIA,
Fred

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1723

Ubuntu users...
I know that no news is good news, but somehow can't believe nobody had any issues testing the Launchpad packages at https://launchpad.net/~nohal/+archive/opencpn Please give them a try - and let me know if they work as expected - this is our way to the users not able to do all this command line stuff, so it should be as flawless as possible... If you added the PPA with the previous beta, 2.6.1723 should come with your regular software updates already.

Note: i386 deb packages are already done, amd64 still waiting in the queue to be built...

Thanks

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1723

Hoi Dave,
Before you go final, I like to draw your attention to a strange behaviour I have with the toolbox window.
. if I open the toolbox window and it is not overlapping the the toolbar, I cannot change the tabs in the toolbox, however it is possible to make changes in the first (Settings) tab.(see screenshot)
. after dragging the toolbox so that it is partly covering the buttonbar, it is again possible to alter the tabs.
. If I drag the buttonbar to the middle of the screen, then the buttonbar will 'disappear' after opening the toolbox. When the toolboxwindow does not overlap the buttonbar it will stay visible.
. And finaly the weirdest of all: The first time after starting OCPN it is possible to change the tabs in the toolbox, but closing and opening the toolbox again is giving the results as above.

Im running linux sabayon with wxwidgets 2.8.12

(sorry for some strange reason I cant upload a picture)

Pavel,

on Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS there is an unmet dependency:

opencpn depends on libtinyxml2.5.3 (>= 2.5.3-3) [UNAVAILABLE]

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1723

On W7 and XP Object Query and the tool tip for waypoints are working as expected.

And I found that little "led bar" in the track buttom to indicate tracking is active.
Perhaps not as visible as the approach proposed but already a good feedback when toggling tracking!

Dirks toolbox focus problem:

points 1, 2 and 4 are not an issue on W7 nor XP, the focus stays at the toolbox and you can't action the buttons.

Point 3 - disappearing bar - happens if the bar overlaps with the toolbox. If you move the toolbox window, there is "nothing below" then, but the bar will reappear again closing the toolbox window. Cosmetic so...

Marius...
On 10.04 you have to also add lucidbleed PPA (https://launchpad.net/~lucid-bleed/+archive/ppa) Unfortunately Ubuntu does not pull in the PPA dependencies.
Or we will have to copy the tinyxml package to our PPA, which I wanted to avoid as I really don't like duplication.

Edit: I did create the copy, so now the dependency should be satisfied without adding the other PPA.

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1723

Mark properties link

win xp/sp3 and w7 opencpn 2.6.1715/1723

When creating a mark with hyperlink it seems impossible to edit or delete this link in the mark properties using the “edit/delete/add new”. When deleting the link and hitting ok, a warning box appear saying: “link not complete, can't be saved”. “Add new” works ok. Only way to edit or delete is to do it in the mark file itself.
Changing the icon works ok, when doing it with export wp. Editing the link is not saved, although ok is accepted. (not saved in layer)
Or have i missed something.

Heri...
I'm a little confused. Layers are read-only, you can't edit the properties of the waypoints being part of a layer. The whole dialog should be read-only.

There is no confirmation dialog for deleting a link, which OK are you referring to?

The link not complete warning is shown when you add a link without any URL, which is pretty obvious as it does not link anywhere.

What I can see is a refresh problem after editing the link text and a misbehavior with links without any text at all, looking into it now.

And this worked OK. Thanks.

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1723

sbfreddie...

Mac build:

I'm building the .dmg on a Hackintosh running 10.5. WxWidgets 2.8

A very feeble setup, so slow as to be unusable in real life, but if I am patient I can build and test basic functionality.

Have you tried any Mac builds/runs?

Thanks

Pavel

I added the PPA for the previous beta. It installed without a glitch. Today it updated automatically.

Ubuntu 12-04 i386

Well done.

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1723

Hi Dave

A small last minute request.

It would be nice if the "double click object query" was disabled when the cursor was up down left or right. That would enable higher speed panning.

All is well on Vista build.

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1723

Two problems (found on Ubuntu 10.04, Gnome, use OpenGL off)

1. There seems to be a reproducible glitch in handling 'F11', which is a 'maximize to full screen' event. The result is shown in attached image and another effect is that chart zoom (with mouse scroll) stops working (associated events are ignored (?)) after F11.

2. Very minor annoyance - when running OpenCPN from a command line, terminal is not reset properly to original line discipline on program exit. In effect a command like 'opencpn && reset' is necessary. Folks who run OpenCPN by clicking on an icon will never see this, though.
