Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1718
I just compiled opencpn 2.7 1718 from git on fedora 17
I followed the list of prereq given in the doc manual on opencpn.org
on fedora though a prereq is missing in the doc gpsd-devel which
is obvious on trying to setup the gps as networklibgps is missing
from the list
otherwise I have the globalsat g-star iv puck and although I dont have charts
loaded as yet the top right icon shows that the gps data is being read

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1718
A few details (W7)
1 - The Grib isobar labels shine brightly in dusk and night mode, OpenGL and classic mode (pic #1)
2 - I was expecting the GPS button to turn green with a NMEA stream (without a valid position) (pic #2)
3 - I can't really make sense of the Light information:
- the order of colored sectors seems random
- one green sector seems missing in this example (pic#3)

Well, to start with, there seems to be a problem with the rendering in build 1718 that hasn't been there before in the betas. I will investigate this.
The order is the same order as in the chart database, one could argue that we ought to sort this in angle order maybe.

SailorF54....
The GPS status icon indicates whether there is a good enough positioning input from the GPS reciever to enable navigation. With no Lat/Lon fix, the icon is Red Ball.
No bug.

And to the left of it there should be that icon that indicates that track mode is enabled, shouldn't it?

bcn...
Sorry, that Feature Request for Track-Mode annunciator is unimplemented on this Release. Adding another floating dialog icon is actually a big deal, testing-wise. Too risky for this late in the release cycle.

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1718
Thought that the GPS indicator is fixed to upper right - at least I can't drag it.
And the Track indicator should be attached to it - without GPS "ok" it does not make any sense - logically and screen position wise.

Sorry Dave, What do you mean by that?
In this version of OCPN, in the toolbox there is no "help tab" ...????
The toolbox is the same that the toolbox of the previous version of OCPN.

When I click on the Grib icon, the grib window go up. But it is in English. Even the language use is the French language.
Yet the French language file for this plugin is present in share/fr/LC_MESSAGE
Idem for WMM plug-in.

I think that's supposed to be "The help tab of the About window", which comes up when you click the "?" in the Toolbox.

I am not seeing this problem. I get correct localized language in GRIB and other plugins. Même en français ;-) Can you show us your opencpn.log output so we can check that everything is really loaded from the 1718 tree?

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1718
Hello Dave,
Ctrl-M add a WP. It run Ok.
"Enter" add also a WP. This WP is visible in the WP manager. But the icon is not visible on the screen.
And if you go into the WP manager, to open the properties window that WP, then:
- It is possible to give a name to this WP,
- You can change the icon.
But in all cases, the name and icon are not displayed on the screen.
