Swedish additions, ubuntu build at https://github.com/balp/OpenCPN/downloads
Code in the tree, https://github.com/balp/OpenCPN/tree/grib-metric

Patches are about as in 2.6.1511, A translate of aa, ae, oe to å,ä,ö in CM charts and possibility to see grib weather in m/s. The grib still don't support mixed m/s for wind and knots for current.

Toolbow/Vector charts - Mariner's Standard - Select all
seems to leave the last items unchecked. e.g. Unchecked _texto prevents 'Show ENC text' to display texts

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1524

possible bug with playing sound, or my Wx libraries are too old. Anyway, at attempt to play ships bells opencpn aborts, with the following message:

Code:
(opencpn:26852): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_get_origin: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed
                  opencpn: relocation error: opencpn: symbol _ZN7wxSound6CreateERK8wxStringb, version WXU_2.8.11 not defined in file libwx_gtk2u_adv-2.8.so.0 with link time reference
Also, after opencpn aborts, the terminal is left in a meessed up state (echo disabled, newline not working, etc.). Reset sequence is needed to get it back in shape.

After normal opencpn shutdown terminal is also left messed up. As a quick workaround:
Code:
$ opencpn && reset
System info (yeah, old, I know.. no time to upgrade..) :
Code:
$ cat /etc/lsb-release
DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
DISTRIB_RELEASE=10.04
DISTRIB_CODENAME=lucid
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS"

Strange..............If I create 3 different chart groups of cm93. I can see 2 if I choose All active charts. If I try the different cm93 chart groups I can get one to display, the other 2 gives a black screen with blue lines.

Dave

Testing AIS SART.
The SART target should be promoted to the top of the "AIS target list" to follow recommendations. As it is now the Base Stations are on top.

Regarding msg 14. If I understand this correctly, an alarm is not trigged as it is now. I can understand the problem with alarm overloading on commercial vessels. On cruisers, I don't think the problem is the same.
I think that we should trigger an alarm as default, and have the options with time out and an "off" switch, but those option will need a decision by the user.
Considering that personal AIS-SART devices will become common on board cruisers, as a MOB system, we must provide the option of alarms.

I tested this and mrm's problem with ship bells on 64 bits 11.10 and 32 bits 10.10. I have seen none of these problems!

mrm, did you compile yourself?
Both the published packages are compiled with libwxgtk 2.8.12.
Try to upgrade!

Thomas, no, I installed the official beta .deb from downloads area, which replaced (upgraded from) previously installed 2.6.1511 which, in turn, was installed in place of 2.5.

For the time being upgrading is not an option, due to massive lack of time, so I'll just disable the sound.

Same here: trying to create a chart group for each edition of cm93. It looks like only one set of cm93 is used, the other sets are being ignored. I don't think opencpn is ready to handle multiple sets of cm93s

When the tide reaches about 2.5 kts, and above, it's very hard to see the directional arrows! Is "softer" colors an option?

A favorite of mine too, for the gulf stream:

  • Screenshot one: current velocity only, looks OK since the stream does not exceed 3 knots
  • Screenshot two: surface temp only. The color changes every 1 deg C.
    A possible improvement would be to change color at 0.5 or even 0.1 deg.
  • Screenshot three: current plus temp = unreadable.
All screenshots without OpenGL

Attached is the grib file, used to produce these screenshots, rename to *.grb

Not sure how to improve the overlay off several sets of data, maybe use a different range of colors for surface temp and current?
