Me neither, but......
I can confirm ENC problems, testing on two different sets of charts.
The crash came at the end of SENC creations.

Is the GPS circle supposed to be so large? On anything other than the two highest chart detail settings, it covers the boat Icon.

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1310

Hi,

In building the debian package I notice in 2.5.0 that 'make clean' is not cleaning up include/version.h. (it complains that I've made local changes to the source tree without properly making a patch for it, but it's really just the left-behind file)

has this been fixed in 2.6 beta 1310?

thanks,
Hamish

GPSD

Hoi,
I have two pc, both running gentoo linux and 2.6.1310, the first my cunning pc is conected to the gps using gpsd. Works ok until I try to view the nmea stream. Then there are no nmea sentences visable in the popup window, and no more updating of the position.

When i try to connect from the other pc over the network to gpsd running on the cunning pc I get a hang as soon as I change Data Server away from localhost.

No data is available in the data stream dialog when using gpsd on Linux. This is clearly stated in the manual. Gpsd is using it's own protocol internally.
If you, nevertheless activate the data stream dialog, the "ownship" don't change, it's froze, but the dashboard and status-bar position etc. are updated.I just tested this on kubuntu.
If you connect directly, not using the gpsd, the data-stream will be available.

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1310

Hello Dave,

I return on two similar experiences I've had during my sailing in the summer of 2011. The first experiment failed to throw myself on a rock. The second experiments had no consequence. But the mere fact that it took place is a bad thing.

This applies to the tab "Etc. ...". In this tab, there is a "checkbox" that is "Automatic Track daily."

Every day, when midnight, the statement of the track stops. A new track is started. But it's dangerous.

First experience: Arrival in Guernsey
We were returning from England and we had arrived at night in Guernsey. We were in the access channel along Guernsey. This is a very complicated channel. At midnight, the track has stopped and a new record of track was set. But it did not appear. I was on the cockpit and my wife was watching the computer. She did not understand what was happening. Fortunately, there was a beacon with light and we were able to get out after a moment's. I had to stop and restart OpenCPN.

Second experiment: Arrival in St Malo
We arrived in St Malo (France) at night. We were just outside the entrance to the port that I know very well. This is an area that is well lit. We did not need to be at the computer. He was also midnight. The track has stopped and started a new track. As in Guernsey, OpenCPN not react well. I only realized the next day. This time we were not in danger because we know the area well.

Best regards

Gilletarom.

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1310

a tiny FYI.Requirements after 2.5 are XPSP2.vcredist 10 won't go.oh,well-no big deal.I guess I'm the only one in the world with such an old XP os disk and I haven't done a fresh install in years.
Apparently, the next iteration of Microsoft's vcredist won't work on XP at all...
