Oh rats!! Flushed with success at 2 back to back long distance deliveries using OC which worked beautifully, I couldnt wait to download 3.2 and get the plugins of gribs and the dashboard.

So - Now I have it and all my charts but have lost my gps!! HELP!! I'm on Win 7 64 bit and have a garmin usb "hockey puck". This worked fine in the older version with the GPS settings at 4800 baud and set to GARMIN. My Device manager says its working correctly and the driver is up to date. It appears as a separate garmin device rather than under the port section of the device manager (which it also did in the older version). Any ideas?? Cheers, Tony (Hoping to get it back up and running for a January transatlantic!)

Try changing the GPS to none and hit the OK button. Then reenter the tools and change the GPS back to Garmin and hit OK again.

Thanks for the input, Viking. I tried it but no success. Then I tried my Garmin gps 60 with a prolific serial to usb in the same port (happens to be com 4). Changed through from Garmin to Com 4 on the gps tab of tools and it worked....for 20 minutes (actually as I was typing this - so I am now re-typing!) because I got a major shut down with a Blue Screeen and Dire Warning from Windows!!

Any other suggestions would be gratefully received. This is such a great shame as it all worked beautifully with the older version....sorta reminds me of the adage "if it aint broke, dont fix it"!

Further to above: Windows is telling me (having done its search through the computer and the web) that the driver is the latest and greatest.

Nevertheless ...what stands out in your log file is this (repeated many times)

OpenCPN can't find your Garmin USB driver, for some reason.
Have you ticked the box Toolbox->GPS-> Use Garmin GRMN/.......?
Have you done any changes at all to your "Garmin DeviceInterface" or driver ?
Can't help you much more, with no "Bluescreen generator" or garmin.

Hi Thomas - many thanks for responding and I hope you had a great Christmas!

The toolbox - GPS is set to read Garmin. (Interestingly - the hockey puck worked on Garmin but the Garmin 60 had to have COM 4 - is this because it was connected via serial to usb cable? Also, it was the Garmin 60 which caused the blue screen).

And, No, I aint touched anything to do with the Device Interface or or driver!

I might try going back to the older stable version of OC and see if I can get the hockey puck back - would this be a reasonable idea?

I accidentally activated the MOB function and can't seem to find the way to de-activate it. Help please!

Open ‘Route Manager’
1) Open ‘Route’
Click ‘Temporary MOB Route ‘ and delete
2) Open ‘Waypoint’
Click ‘Man Over Board’ at ss/mm/hh and delete

And never again !!!

or:
move the cursor on the mob point/
right mouse button/
mark/wp properties/
change the mark icon to any other, for ex. "light vessel"
now you can delete it (delete waypoint)

Fails to open toolbox

When I start opencpn 2.3.0 on my updated Debian Squeeze box, I'm not able to open the toolbox. I get the following error
Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_window_resize: assertion `width > 0' failed

I've downloaded the 32 bit package for ubuntu.

I'll try to build the package myself on the box, to see if it's a build-problem on debian squeeze.

That did not help either. Still got the same bug.

All I get as output on the console is
Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_window_resize: assertion `width > 0' failed

Hmm, maybe this should be moved to another thread...
