I do have an additional AIS feature request.

I would like an option to ignore a target for x minutes to avoid "alarm loops"

Reason:
This only seems to happen when traveling on parallel course with the target, in the same direction, or opposing. Crossing sea lanes won't show this behavior.

  • An AIS alarm is triggered.
  • I acknowledge.
  • My boat doesn't sail totally straight, wind, swell and waves cause it to yaw. Then the CPA/TCPA calculation might show the CPA is getting larger or TCPA has passed. Opencpn reset the logic.
  • With the next yaw in the other direction the alarm condition are met again, I have to acknowledge again.
  • and on and on and on....
Also some AIS targets show a similar yawing, mainly smaller class B vessels. This causes a similar loop in alarms.

I experienced the same annoying problem described by LeaseOnLife and I do have the same request .
The same problem of "alarm loops" occurred also when crossing a mooring zone (or entering in a busy port) . I requested the possibility to better manage alarms :
This could be done by :
An icon in the tool bar to activate/deactivate rapidly alarms Acknowledgment could be for x time
.....

regards
Jean Pierre

Jean Pierre, thanks!

I added a feature request in the tracker: FS #104 "AIS - avoid alarm loops"

Nature Reserve

Hello. Here in Italy in CM93 charts there are a lot of Areas that OCPN renders with a question mark (?). They are mainly nature reserve.

This is an object example at 35°52.7'N 12°51.5'E:

Code:
Feature Class: RESARE

Attributes
   CATREA    nature reserve(4)
   OBJNAM    (Zona A)
   INFORM    (Isole Pelagie nature
              reserve - See Sailing
              Directions)
   NINFOM    (Riserva naturale Isole
              Pelagie - Per le
              prescrizioni particolari
              consultare il Portolano)
Note that "OBJNAM (Zona A)" is a very important piece on info that should be swown by OCPN since the navigation rules are strictly related to the Zone Type. For example:

- Zona A: Access forbidden
- Zona B: Fishing and anchoring forbidden unless speified
- Zona C: Fishing forbidden unless specified

Sorry if the issue has already been reported.

Ciao, Marco.

Bug report: Version 2.2 Build 823.

Build and installed this version on ubuntu remix on the netbook last night (weekly builds from source as this end)

Chart quilting is turned on.

The behavior not seen before is that when I move the chart with the cursor (right, left, up, or down) and half the displayed chart is a vector and the other half a raster the system crashes. Repeatable.

I can confirm this bug on both Ubuntu NRM 10.4 and Kubuntu 10.4 using build 917. I will enter this bug in Fly Spray.

Fly Spray is OpenCPNs new bug & feature tracker, check here OpenCPN::Tracker OpenCPN - stable: Tasklist
Link to "your" bug:FS#107 : Crash with mixed raster/vector display.
There needs to be a prominent link on OpenCPN.org to FlySpray!

PS. Just added a top menu link to FlySpray.

Crash with 2.2-918 using Waypoint manager

Hello Dave,

XP 2.2 918

1° I have a list of waypoints who are loaded.
2° I destroy all the waypoints using the waypoints manager.
3° I load concurrently two GPX files who only incorporate waypoints.

And then OpenCPN crash.

See 3 attach files.

Cordially

Gilletarom.

When the crash happens , have you tracks in your base ?
If yes , could you try the same process without any tracks

I have the same problem but it happens only if I have tracks loaded

I can reproduce this :-(

First, your file also contain a track.

1. Load the second file (Chausey),
2. Click Delete All Waypoints
3. Click Delete All Tracks

This patch should solve this bug:
Code:
diff --git a/src/routeman.cpp b/src/routeman.cpp
index 9373c77..3193e70 100755
--- a/src/routeman.cpp
+++ b/src/routeman.cpp

-            if ( b_delete_used || ((!prp->m_bIsInRoute)              // if argument is false, then only delete non-route waypoints
+            if ( b_delete_used || ((!prp->m_bIsInRoute) && (!prp->m_bIsInTrack) // if argument is false, then only delete non-route waypoints
                  && !(prp == pAnchorWatchPoint1) && !(prp == pAnchorWatchPoint2) )  )
             {

Can you test and report. Thanks

Firstly, I apologise myself to not have seen that there was atrack in the file. I was talked that the file only was behaving waypoints. And I did not ascertain.

Second, I have cleaned the file gpx and taken the track out. Then, I remaked the experience. This time, there was not crash.

Thirdly, I delivered a track in one of the two files gpx of waypoints. And I tried again to load them concurrently. Then, OpenCPN crash.
